How much does a mahjong room cost?
$20 per hour for the whole private room — split four ways that's $5 each per hour. Open 7 days, 10am–2am, so late sessions are no problem.
What styles of mahjong can the tables run?
The automatic tables shuffle and build the walls for you, and can be configured for however your table plays — up to a full 144-tile set. Hong Kong, Taiwanese 16-tile, Sichuan, Guobiao (国标) and other regional styles are all fine; tell us your rules and we'll set the table up.
Do I need to book a mahjong room?
Walk-ins are welcome when a room is free, but rooms do get taken — booking online or calling ahead on 0432 888 978 is the safe move, especially on weekend nights.
Can we bring food and drinks?
Outside food and drink are welcome (standard etiquette — no BYO alcohol). You're also two minutes from Lygon Street if the table gets hungry mid-session.
How many people fit in a room?
Four at the table plus room for a few spectators or rotating players. Both rooms are private, so it's your space for the session.
I've never used an automatic table — is it complicated?
Not at all. Push the button, the table shuffles and builds the walls, you play. Staff will show you the first time — after one round it feels like cheating to ever stack tiles by hand again.
